Lawn mowing simulator is (obviously) a simulation game developed by Skyhook Games and published by Curve Digital. Here’s more about the game-

‘Experience the beauty and detail of mowing the Great British countryside in Lawn Mowing Simulator, the only simulator that allows you to ride an authentic and expansive roster of real-world licensed lawn mowers from prestigious manufacturers; Toro, SCAG and STIGA as you manage your mowing business.’

Graphically Lawn mowing never looked so good.  Obviously being a simulator, attention to detail is incredibly important, every blade of grass is visible clearly to make sure you know what youve cut and what you’ve missed, the Gardens and area’s you cut feel real from the way they look and the ambient sounds you hear. The vehicles you use are detailed, with moving parts and well drawn movement of each individual vehicle. The focus is on the simulation experience and they’ve done a great job of making sure that graphically  the game does the job.

Being a simulator the core focus is on grass cutting, there’s plenty of detail in the core mechanic with lawnmowers having plenty of variation between each other, making sure you’re using the right lawn mower isn’t hugely necessary  at first but as time goes on you’ll need to pay more attention. When you select a job you’ll get a difficulty rating along with the current length of grass and the length it needs to be cut to.

Once you’ve selected all that and assigned yourself to the job you head over to the garden. First off you have a check around, picking up items that could be in your way or damage your mower. Once that’s completed you mount your mower and get to work!

The actual gameplay is a little dry, but it’s bound to be. As a simulator its core job is to deliver the ultimate Lawn Mowing experience and it does it. You have to really pay attention to the task at hand whilst managing the load on your engine and making sure not to amass any penalties for cutting flowers and damaging the ground.

There’s money in the Grass

The other major addition to Lawn Mowing Simulator is that you can build your business empire around it, expand your premises, add staff and more vehicles to take more jobs at once. It builds out the game more and adds an interesting business management aspect to the game.

Overall 8.5/10

Lawn Mowing Simulator is a sim fan’s dream. Plenty of attention to detail, solid core gameplay and a fantastic addition in the business management and the ability to build your own grass cutting empire. LMS will be popular with sim fans and may even provide enjoyment for the casual player.
